About the Church
A Little About Who We Are
Desert Hills exists to be an outreaching family of believers committed to equipping each other to know and become like Jesus Christ, living in obedience to God's Word for the praise of His glory.
We are an Evangelical Free Church, which is a Bible-believing denomination. Founded as an association of Bible-based congregations in the United Sates, the Evangelical Free Church had its roots in Sweden during the 1800s. The word "Free" means that the church was free from government affiliation or domination. The Evangelical Free Church, in the last hundred years, has been known for its sound Biblical stand, evangelical orientation, and missionary emphasis.

Core Values of Desert Hills
As followers of Christ, we are called to:
- Live in obedience to God's Word (John 14:21)
We believe that we are called to live in obedience to the Bible, and that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, without error, the complete revelation of His will, and the divine and final authority for all Christian faith and life.
- Grow in the likeness of Christ (2 Corinthians 3:18)
We believe that growing in Christ-likeness is a lifelong, grace-empowered endeavor that begins with repentance from our sinful and selfish lifestyle and results in a Christ-empowered transformation to emulate Him and His love for others.
- Equip the body of Christ (Ephesians 4:11-13)
We believe that we are charged with the responisibility of equipping th e body by teaching, evangelizing, and encouraging others to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up.
- Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit (Ephesians 4:3)
We believe that our Christian unity results from our oneness with Christ and not from human uniformity or worldly conformity, and that this oneness in Christ transcends theological and other differences on non-essentials of the faith.
- Worship God in spirit and truth (John 4:23-24)
We believe that worshiping God in spirit and truth will result in our becoming like the One we worhsip, and that this ultimate purpose is to transcend human preferences in worship styles.

May we suggest that you...
- Worship with us on Sundays!
- Fill out the insert in your bulletin on Sundays and drop it in the offering bag as it goes by. This helps us know that you're here and we can then get to know and serve you better as well as pray for you.
- Attend our Welcome to the Family class taught by our senior pastor, Chuck Rasmussen. (Contact the church office as to when the class is offered, or click here for a list of current classes.)
- Join a Small Group for fellowship and study of the Bible with others from Desert Hills. These groups meet at various locations and at various times throughout the week. Click here for more information.
