Christian Concert Fundraiser Event

This Saturday, May 19, from 7-10pm, Desert Hills is hosting an outdoor Christian concert event on the north lawn. The money raised from the concert will support youth missions this summer. Cost of admission is a suggested $2.50 donation. In addition to live music featuring the youth worship band, there will be sand court volleyball, food vendors, and other goodies available. Come out and enjoy some good music, food, and fellowship, all while supporting youth missions! Bring lawn chairs for seating.

Our June VBS registration is now available. This is a morning VBS, June 18 – 22, from 9:00 a.m. to noon, for kids ages 3-12.

Invincible Yard Sale

This Friday and Saturday, May 4 and 5, our youth ministry will be holding it’s semi-annual yard sale at the church. Come by and find that inexpensive item that you must have! Doors open at 7 AM and close at 2PM. We have furniture, clothes, electronics, games, and much, much more!

Suffering Servant, Risen Lord

This Sunday is the first Sunday in April, which culminates on April 24 with Easter Sunday, when we specifically set aside time to remember and rejoice in the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Each Sunday this month we are going to reflect on a theme related to Jesus’ death and resurrection. I’ve called the series for the month of April Suffering Servant, Risen Lord. This week we will begin very near the beginning, in Genesis 3, with a message entitled, “Why We Need a Crucified and Risen Savior.”

This is surely an interesting question. Why did God choose to save sinners by sending His Son, the Lord of all, to die on a cross and rise from the dead? Why are both the crucifixion and the resurrection necessary for us to be saved? The answers to these questions become clear when we reflect upon what happened when sin entered the world through Adam’s fall. Come join us this Sunday and throughout the month of April as we worship Jesus, who was for us the suffering Servant, and who reigns today as the risen Lord.

Desert Hills has a new Sr. Pastor!!!

It is official! Robb Brunansky was called by the members of Desert Hills to be our next Pastor. On Sunday Jan. 30th, he was contacted by Steve Forney, our search committee chairman, and Robb said that he and Randi, his wife, have been praying about it and feel it is the Lord’s call for them to come to Desert Hills. In follow-up e-mails it was decided that the first day of work will be March 13th. His first sermon as our Sr. Pastor will be March 20th. Thank you to the search committee for all their hard work. And welcome to Pastor Robb!
